"Remember those who are in prison as though you are in prison with them. Suffer with them as though you were there yourself." Hebrews 13:3

Volunteers in the Prison Ministry, practice the basic principles of evangelism; namely,

going out of one’s way to join God’s mission of love to patients and inmates;
spending time cultivating friendship with inmates with the objective of sharing what the Lord Jesus Christ has done in their lives and what He can do in the life of any person who will put his or her trust in the Lord;
agreeing in prayer for the needs of the patients and inmates, and also praying for them as the Holy Spirit leads during other times of the week; and,
encouraging patients and inmates in their walk with Christ the Lord.

In conclusion, the Prison Ministry is one of the many good works of the ministry of the Lord that the children of God are specially equipped to do.
